Position Overview
Camden Missionary Church is a multi-generational church dedicated to serving God, caring for people, and carrying the message of Christ into our world. We are seeking a Christ-centered and passionate part-time (20hr/week) Director of Student Ministry to encourage and equip our students.
Key responsibilities include leading weekly youth group, overseeing Sunday morning student ministry, teaching middle school and high school students, planning youth events and outings, and helping recruit and equip the student ministry volunteer team. Candidates should have experience serving in a church youth ministry in a staff or volunteer role.
Role Responsibilities
- Spiritual Direction
Providing guidance and mentoring to middle and high school students, helping them grow in their relationship with God and navigate life’s challenges from a biblical perspective
- Relational Presence
Seeking opportunities for conversations and connections with students, as well as seeking to be present at some student activities (as schedule permits).
- Program Leadership & Development
Coordinating & leading midweek youth & overseeing Sunday morning youth, as well as sourcing curriculum and developing a ministry calendar.
- Teaching & Discipleship
Teaching at midweek youth, teaching and recruiting teachers for Sunday morning youth, and finding opportunities for discipleship conversations with students
- Volunteer Recruitment & Training
Developing a volunteer team for the student ministry, especially for midweek youth. Providing training opportunities for volunteers to further equip them for ministering to students
- Event Planning
Planning and implementation of events for the students with the goal of growing the group in unity and providing opportunities to engage in serving the community around us.

- A life seeking to be lived in obedience to God and His Word in both faith and practice
- A desire to follow faithfully where God leads
- Experience working with youth in a church or ministry setting
- Leadership ability and a passion for empowering youth to grow in their faith
- Ability to connect well with students, parents, and others
- Ability to work a 20hr/week schedule with flexible hours, including but not limited to Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and some weekends for youth activities and events
The Director of Student Ministry will work alongside our Christian Education Director and report directly to the Senior Pastor. Acceptance of the position will be contingent on passing a background & criminal history check.
